Here, gentlemen is the reason why we always without exception strap all our reducers and whip hoses. No warning, was inspected by yours truly three weeks ago and showed no signs of cracking of failure. Got my blood flowingt about 3 o'clock today, thats for sure!! |

Hey matthew, I want to say thanks for sharing these pictures and your experience in what happened.Life can come at us fast ,its a good thing you were kinda prepared for it by taking safety first and having that tip end straped or cabled to your boom. Im just glad it was a scare and not a phisical accident for you and your company.Hopefully some other operator will learn from these photo's and take a second longer to make sure his tip hose is properly secured to his boom. |

Correct me if I'm wrong looks like the weld on broke off, do you guys weld a fastner on the heavy duty end for a strap to attach to to keep it from falling and hitting the hose man or what ? |

Thanks boom inspector and todd. Thought it was a good example. Hope it helps someone think about safety maybe a little more. I know I'll be much more thorough on my hose inspections from now on. G Pumper is right biged. what you're seeing as a "heavy duty end" is just the metal crimped over the o.d. of the hose. Like my old man always told me, "The day you quite learning about this job is the day you quite this job." |
