sorry guys im still a newbie.i have some other issues which lead to this .but didnt want to bombard you. well i guess i need to mention it for a better understanding where im at.
ok the battery almost exploded on me it swell up and was starting to spit. i pulled the positive (RED) cable off while running hoping it would keep going but it turned off as soon as i pulled it off while attemping to put the positive back on while it was turning off and my shutoff solenoid popped off and the pump would not start up again. i think when putting the cable back on i sent a surge.
ok now that we replaced the solenoid and had to put a new Alternator on we got the pump started but now the pump will not shut off.
i opened up the switch box while running and tried to mess with the ignition switch, pulling off wire etc.. and the pump still didnt turn off i had to pull the wire off the alternator for it to turn off.
any ides would be apreciated. Reed is not able to look at it till friday and i got a 60yard scheduled that day so im in a big bind here
sorry so long

The motor turns on and off with the fuel supply which is the fuel pump solenoid. By pump im assuming you mean the engine. You probably messed a wire up when pulling. Also check your fusses. A wiring diagram would be helpful to you. If it wont shut off try a e stop switch or pull the wire on the fuel pump. |

Well did you figure it out? If its not shutting off you have to cut air or fuel. The e stop only kills the pumping action not the engine. Also always pull the negative cable first. |

Well figured out why it didnt turn off. when we put the new alternater. we cut the diode of one of the wires so that was the problem why it didnt shut off it didnt allow signal to turn off. i added the diode to the connector that connects to the alternator and it worked like a charm.
no problem 2 it will only stroke one time and then stall. swing arm will not swing. prox sensors are good so we are thinling it maybe an electrical issue. i couldnot do anything else on my end so i had to take it to reed and let them try to trouble shoot it. i should know something on tuesday..wish me luck.. |

Good luck. My A40 HP blew the shift cylinder at 250ish hours. We figured it blew the seals. Had the part installed in 48 hours thanks to Eral overnighting it because reed would not pay for that. Hell, it wasn't even painted. They switched manufacturers and I got one of those crap ones. The replacement is the older manufacturers and so far so good. Its got 300 hours on it so far. Now that the warranty is up, I hope nothing else brakes. |
