I see a trend here.......I like the application photos from Reed on this one.  Excellent applicatioon with auger cast pile apps.

Just a thought: If jobsite conditions are so bad that the pump needs tracks. How in the world do you get the ready mix trucks backed up to it? Mabye we will see them on tracks before long also?............. Now that would be cool.

Waitzinger. First one built for this application. Build to work with a Baur 40 auger for Caissons. Then he designed a mount on the Bauer 40 to mount the pump to the actual machine.

Reed has a relationship with Waitzinger from the Boom days.

Waitzinger like Reed. Good products, Good people. Franz Waitzinger has developed a whole lot of the technology you see on many pumps. Including the Outrigger System on the Big Putz boom pumps. That all came from the 2V/DragonFly outrigger system Franz developed while at Reich many many years ago.

Franz has some great innovation.

The tracks aren't really for the floatation.  They are easier to fit to the trailer pump, the steering system is built in, no flat tires, much less chance of getting stuck.  Just a handier solution to on-site self-mobility challenges.

Now mount a 10 meter placing boom with 3" system on it, and chase it all over a site, doing caissons, short walls and columns.....

Hey Speedy. Diddo, actually it could be easily driven on to a flat bed or trailer for more of a city pump application.

ok call me crazy but why  if you need tracks to get there how are you getting concrete to it

and it just adds another peace of equipment needed to move it from job site to job site

so instead of flats on the pump trailer you have flat on the moving trailer

am i missing something

Yes, you are missing something.  This is the perfect setup for the 'Auger Cast' foundation contractor.  The SOILMEC rig you see in the REED pictures has a hollow drill stem.  There is a swivel fitting with a 180 elbow at the top, and rubber system hanging down from there.

They put a semi-loose fitting plug in the tip, drill down the entire depth of the pile in one shot, raise the drill slightly and start pumping, filling the caisson with concrete from the bottom up and they withdraw the auger.  The pump stroke volume is callibrated and the operator in tha rig moitors the pumping pulsations and withdrwas the drill accordingly.  (it's all computerized)  When it's full to the surface, the drill backs out of the way, a skidsteer cleans off the dirt and excess concrete and then they shove the rebar cage down the hole.  I've seen 3' dia x 60' deep piles done in this manner completed in 8 minutes from start of drilling to withdrawl of drill.

Perfect set-up for wet holes.

According to our customer who owns this pump:

"The advantage of the tracks is:

  1. the pump is self propelled
  2. the pump can drag the concrete hoses with it
  3. it can traverse rough terrain when relocating from one part of the site to the other
  4. it is highly manoeuvrable – can turn around in its own length with no effort.
  5. the pump can walk from one location to another with the piling rig whilst still hooked up to the rig"
