Looking for a water pump.  Does anyone know of a company that you can get a hydraulic line shaft turbine submersible water pump.  Mine has eaten to much junk from the crappy water source at our plant.  I don't want a after market external kit type.  It needs to extend 21" into the tank to reach the bottom of the water tank.  I checked with all the pump manufacturers, they have the after market external kits or ones way to expensive.  Need alternatives....thanks.

Hey DerPutz'

What is the deal on the water pump?

Could you find one? How much is it?

Sometimes everybody charges about the same for a part and sometimes it is a giant difference. I am interested in the outcome, and how you were treated.

What brand of pump are you working on? Der Putzmeister?

Derputzmeister 04-20-2007
reply profile send pm notify

It is a line shaft turbine pump.  I operate a 1999 Reed ST36.  The old one just ate up to much sediment and junk and the impellers and bearings turned to junk.  The top section that is above the tank is all good.  The hydraulic motor works and the drive shaft coupler section is good.  I can't figure out how to post pics or I would post a pic.  Everyone I talked to pretty much wants to sell me a aftermarket one that is between $4000 and $4600.  My boss wants me to exhaust all means for a better price, and preferably just replacing the bad pump and not the motor and drive shaft assy.

Bob, you are fantastic.  I got the hopper vibrator and the water pump now.  The best price for the hopper vibrator was olivibrator.com and the best price for the Grundfos water pump is Alliance.  Concord was very very close to Alliance.  Kerry at Concord parts department was very helpful and emailed me as soon as he saw the posting on this thread and I want to thank him for his response.

Once again, thanks to Bob for helping me out....part chasing can be a nightmare, you made it quick and easy!

oh, the price ranges was from $1710 to $4600 for the exact same water  pump.  The price ranges on the vibrator was $360.00 to $1100.  It was worth the part chasing time....cost to my employer was 4.5 hours in wages.

Series 7560 8-Roller

Hypro roller pumps are designed for agricultural and industrial spraying and transfer of a variety of fluids. These include insecticides, herbicides, emulsives, aromatic solvents, liquid fertilizers and many other liquids. The economical rotary-action roller principle requires no check valves while providing positive displacement characteristics with less friction and lower starting torque than other pumps. Construction features include a cast-iron, Ni-Resist or the new SilverCast™ body and Super Rotor, 416 stainless steel shaft, sealed factory-lubricated ball bearings, cartridge-type lip seals of Viton, Buna-N or leather, and versatile Super Rollers. (Super Rollers feature the life of polypropylene and the chemical resistance of nylon.) Rotation for all models is counterclockwise for easy tractor PTO drive, except models 4001 and 4101 which are clockwise. Pumps are available in reverse rotation.

This 8 – roller pump achieves up to 22.5 gpm  (85.2 lpm)  and 300 psi (20.7 bar).  The series includes models 7560C, 7560N, and 7560XL.

    1. Install a water relief valve into system if you use a water nozzle that will shut off the water flow. If your nozzle can not stop flow don't worry about relief valve (this is better)

    2. Do not turn this pump too fast. Check RPM of motor; regulate if necessary. This is important.

    3. I like the solid-black rollers, not the white covered ones.

    4. You can purchase this pump in any one of 10,000 places. Buy it from someone that will HELP YOU with questions, prices, service.

    5. The rollers are a consumable part. Change them BEFORE they start to give you trouble, when the pressure drops off.

happy / cost effective pumping ;~)

I hope you got the correct rollers.

Order a roller kit (spare) with the black rollers. You will understand after the white plastic wears off of the steel inserts and screws up the pump housing.

ALSO!! get a sediment trap(remember the Thompsens ,BOB)Looks like a short pipe with w\a 45 tapping into it,but with a pipe plug instead.water goes through but sediment drops into the 45! We used to put a pipe into the 45,about 6"long for longer durations between cleanings, cause in the ole' Thompsens they were a bear to get to!!

Okay, Bob...I got the pump, Hypro Model 7560, BLACK ROLLERS TOO!!! now, this is the question before I make a mounting bracket for the hypro pump and the hydraulic motor....CAN THE PUMP SIT ON TOP OF THE WATER TANK???  This is where I plan to install it, or does it have to sit below the tank for priming purposes?  I believe, I can mount it on top and it will prime automatically....your thoughts.

    thanks,

    derputz

    Bob 04-24-2007
    reply profile send pm notify

It may sit on top. You may want to put a 'foot' on the bottom of your suction tube. It is a check valve that will keep the suction tube full of water. This helps when you are using the water with only 1/2 or1/4 tank of water. It will make your rollers last longer too.

Remember to make a drain for the pump if you experience freezing in the winter.

The owner of the company I work for suggests replacing the balck rollers(covered in plastic) with stright brass rollers. It does create surge in the water hose, but hey last a long long time, and they don't shred off plastic and clog up your pump.
