I understand not everyone agrees with the no double ended hose campaign,I for one about 6 months ago would have argued against it.now I know its not logical to think we can do away with them all together, there are certain jobs where you have to use them and I have done quite a few,the effort is to try and reduce there use as much as possible will this cause more injuries than it is worth? I do not know,it will be more work for the operators involved being hurried to change the hose out while 10 trucks are waiting to be poured, and we know what happens when operators get in a hurry, people get hurt.I do agree with the campaign but I do believe there are so many factors that cause the whip of hoses that even a single end hose will not eliminate these accidents, maybe not as many fatal but there will still be injuries and fatalities due to hose whippings, until we come up with a antiwhip hose that is affordable and will last a little while, this is the best way to slow down these accidents we are not OSHA and cannot make anyone do this it is all of our professional opinions that this is the best direction to go in whenever possible, hope you all have a safe and productive week,God bless

if you own the pump you can make it mandatory. listen, if my boss tells me i'm fired for not changing the hose, then the customer can wait. 5 minutes won't make the mud any less pumpable.
they'll get used to it. just like they had to get used to us not picking up their machines or using s-pipes. believe you me, i've had a few hose-men thank me for changing the system.
