Nick Ulisse passed away this morning at the age of 85. He was a leader and pioneer in the concrete finishing/concrete pumping industry for many years. He started a concrete finishing company in Richmond, VA in the late 50’s and then bought concrete pumps in the 60’s and 70’s and called it Ulisse Concrete Pumping. He sold it in 1994 and it is now Grap Equipment, Inc. He was a well respected man by many in the construction industry. The final arrangements have not been made yet, but when I have them I will post them for anyone who would like to send their condolences.   

Nick was a gentleman. He always had a kind word and good advice. Those that knew and learned from him were indeed, lucky. He was an inspiration and a real leader. He will be missed.

Nick was a near and dear friend who I had the honor of knowing over the last 28 years. He would often call and ask for me to come visit, but I was often too busy. Nick was the kind of guy, that if he liked you, he would do any thing for you.

Nick Ulisse will be sorely missed for he was a true pioneer in this industry and true friend.

Nick was a fine man that I always enjoyed seeing and talking with when I could. The world could use many more like him.
