When in doubt, wash it out is absolutely, 100% correct. If you know the plant is going to turn your truck around and you are an hour from the plant, why not wash it out when the guy is leaving for the 2+ hour trip? WAY WAY MO EASY. After you finish, button it back up, stick a sponge in the end of the tip hose to keep the pipe walls wet & chill without the anxiety. You can probably wax your whole cab before the guy gets back & there is no chipping dryass crete out of the corners. ;)This message was edited by Bob on 1-3-06 @ 11:23 AM

Marcus, The reason I recomend the Prim-a-Pac Slow Willie product is because it has been tested and does work. When you talk about testing is that with a 5sack mix or a 61/2 with pozz & air, polar set or 2% CaCl granite or coral or slag or or or or or forever. Follow the directions on the package, see where it gets you with YOUR concrete and then adjust from there next time. Life (mine) is to short to keep reinventing the wheel. I am not lazy, just too busy. ;)

I am all in favor of using retarder, but it is not always as easy to get....But when the wash out area is wher I am sitting, I would rather not wade through concrete for the rest of the pour. But build up in the hopper ususally happens to me when I mam hooked into a deck with 100 ft or more of hose where it is a pin to recirculate when ther batch plant goes to lunch
