Fellow Pumpers: I have decided to run for the Board of Directors of the ACPA. If elected. I will immediately run for President of the Association based on the following agenda: 1. Total transparency for the Association. 2. Monthly Newsletters to our members. 3. Commitment of Educating our membership that based on the monetary investments and risks of our business, we must start charging more for our services, and to improve our business practices. If we can make a profit based on the above, we can create a better way of life for our employees and staff. 4. We must hold ourselves out as a rental company, and not sign contracts that classify us a contractor or sub-contractor. 5. We have always shared any type of business procedure we adapted or have seen that would be helpful for our industry. Based on some of the items above, I need your help to be elected to your Board and President of your Association. Please contact your representative and have them Vote for me as your President. Thank you. Richard O'Brien "I will not let the tail wag the dog" |

Mr Obrien, I am under the impression that the ACPA is trying to bring a safer standard to the industry. With that said, Where do you stand on the requirement for mandatory oilers on bigger pumps? Also having recently taking an ACPA test. Will you update the test, as several of the questions I missed where obsolete or out of spec. ( exp. A 50 meter pump weighs at least how many pounds?) Since the bigger pumps have evoloved that question has not been changed and some 50 meter pumps are under the 90k mark which the ACPA told me it was 90k or more. I am also curious why the certification is only good for two years as a CCO (Certifeid Crane Operator) is good for five years? I also fail to see how an untrained mixer driver has the authority to take over my ability to operate my pump by pressing an E stop when he/she runs out of concrete as the ACPA says we should tell mixer drivers to do this and are making a CD to educate them. We all know on big pumps that are flat out, the boom raises as the tip drains, causing concrete to rain down on the finishing crew. These are just a few of my many concerns that I have. Thank you |

Good luck Mr O"Brian. It is sad that there is not much of a price differance,in renting a 32m in 1978,and 2014. As 182 said,we need 2 people on the big booms, operators. |

Thanks for the the Obama, "Change" message Mr O' Brien. Seems your only looking for better money and don't care if your own employees go home to their own families each night. Good luck in your endeavours. |
