I like a little extra pressure, but this is ridiculous. Our 43m Putz has enough pressure to dang near take your hide off. We tried adjusting the valve a while back to turn it down, but did not really help anything. Anyone have any ideas on how we can get this fixed? If I idle the truck way down while cleaning, it still has enough pressure to blow the nozzle off even with it hose clamped on. |

i use the pressure washer wand. does the job just fine and uses alot less water. dont have the high pressure water pump kit and dont see a need for it where im at. i agree, the pressure is insane out of the hose for a washout but will be great in case of emergency. love the twist nozzle end to boot. tried opening and closing it for shits and giggles one day with the water pump on, lmao not a chance |

There should be a ball valve by the pump to bypass the relief valve. With this valve closed, the relief valve is bypassed and water is directed to the high pressure wand. With the valve open, water is directed through the relief valve to your water hose. Make sure the relief valve is not screwed down all the way, back it off and run water pump. Screw down to adjust to desired pressure, usually 10.25 bar or approximately 150 psi. If no adjustment is possible, dissasemble your relief valve and check for a broken spring or stuck ball and seat. You can purchase a relief valve at any pressure washer store or at Graingers. Also, there should be an orfice on the pressure side of the hydraulic motor that drives the water pump to keep it from over speeding. Usually 1.8mm or 5/64 in. Look in your pump data sheet for size for your machine. |

Play with the water pump lever next to the agitator lever, and engage it only half way..... |

PrefConc is right on the money the orifice is sometimes taken out or drilled out when the pump gets older to squeeze a little more life out of it. This can cause what you describe when a new pump is installed. Also Check the water pump pressure, It is on the auger/water pump block Make sure some one has not cranked that up, also confirm the Pump, if the gear pump on the back of the pump stack has been replaced with a larger flow pump you would also have problems, but this would also drive the auger faster. If you need to get a list of the factory Pressures you can contact PMA or your local dealer. 800 890 0269 woodsa@putzam.com |

We had a similar problem on a 47m. Check that the return line from the water pressure relief valve isn't plugged (ours was packed with crud from ready mix water). It dumps excess water back into the sump tank. |
