I read on the internet that Cemex is going to buy out rinker.  That will will give them some real control out here in the west.

I can only relate to what has happend here in Colorado. All the major concrete suppliers have been swallowed up by major corps.They are not to be fooled with as they are getting the sand and gravel with it.Now they control the powder,rock,sand and concrete.Does that smell of a different way to control prices?.I can say my costs are up 85% over the past 3 years.

it's pretty much a done deal. crossing "T's" and dotting "I's" right now. i worked for rmc when cemex bought us out. cemex is running the business into the ground. treating customers like shit, employees like shit and basically stepping all over everybody because they can. thier customers hate them and are jumping ship, but where can they go if cemex owns everybody. i feel sorry for ya, rinker employees.

I am a South Florida Boompump Operator & have a few good friends in dispatch @Rinker,, From what I have been told The Government is not allowing Cemenex;) lol to buy all of Rinker in Fla , There are 39 or so plants that have to be sold to someone other then Cemex , So Cemex doesn't have a monopoly ,, So as of 4-28- that was the only hold up in crossing the t's & dotting the I's,, That doesnt mean Im getting all the info , but @ last talk with my buds thats the only hold up .. I may be misinformed but What do I know Im just a PumpMan.

well, theres also one guy with like 11% shares holding out as well as cemex having to sell a few plants in florida and arizona, but i think it's pretty much a done deal. the buzz in the cemex office is that thier gonna buy rinker no matter what. the u.s gomvernment has approved the purchase by cemex it's just pretty much coming down to that last guy with the stocks holding out. when cemex does buy rinker out theres gonna be alot of unemployed poeple scrambling for jobs. they're just not gonna need rinker plants next door to rmc plants. the cemex (old rmc) plants around here have rinker plants next to them. cemex layed off about 100 poeple in my are ans are gonna lay off more here pretty soon. everyone and i mean everyone talk about how much they hate rinker and that includes emplyees, management, customers......everyone. i wish rinker could tell them to get "F**ked" for thier own sake, but cemex is just bulldozing everyone and destroying everything they touch.
