River of concrete flows into fancy New York hotel

Guests at Manhattan's posh Le Parker Meridien hotel had a shock on Wednesday when a wet stream of concrete flowed into the lobby espresso bar. The river of muck made its appearance when a construction team next door accidentally tore through a wall, allowing the concrete to flood the hotel's previously pristine coffee shop. "We heard loud cracking, then we were running like mad out to 57th Street," customer Bernard Gershon told NBC New York. "One minute I'm sipping a cappuccino, the next minute I'm running for my life from a wall of cement." Thankfully, no one was injured in the mishap, but we don't envy whoever has to clean up the mess.

Just call the cleaninglady and let the pour go on.

I´ve pumped concrete on the second floor to a school. After half of the pumping, the teacher come running and shout: "The cement are pouring in to the classroom". Half the schoolrooms floor was filled with concrete - and all the children were happy and laughing. Just to close down the pumpingsession that day.

Looks like grout.  Never a dull moment though.

An employeed pumper to an competitor to me, had a plug in the hose that was lined up right through a golfshop. I heard from the mixerdriver who were at the site, he said that it looked like a battlefield - but the most funny part, he said, was when a couple of golfballs come floating like boats on the concrete through the shop, during the shopowner was furious screaming.

There are a lot of "shoemakers" in this industry - as how a spokesman (and my self) say it in Sweden.
