I run 3" system on my trailer pump and looking for opinions on which does a beeter job on clean out? After pumping I clean out the pump, put the pig in line and/or hose and pump out. Yesterday for some reason water must have got by the pig and made a rock pack which I coulnt push out with the pump. Had to get a piece of re-bat to beat it free. Also do you slow down the pump volume when running your sponge or rubber plug threw? BTW this is on a trailer pump. T |

rubber go devil will clean the line out better.. but a sponge works good too. just leaves a little scale. lightly rinse out. either way works though but the rubber plug will definitely clean the walls better |

Go to Walmart and get a foam foot ball or round sponge ball that fitts tightly into the 3" hose. I run 2.5" hose and use a small poof football. Not sure what will fit best in three inch. Yes it is very important for it to be dense and fit snugly. I pump mine through fast. Yes it is no fun shaking out hose. Do you run 25 foot 3"? wow takes a man to lift that over your head and shake it :) |

yup 25'x3" the reason I posted was earlier in the week I amost lost 180' of system. Didnt think there was anyway I could push it out with the pump. But pushe'd right out looked like round bricks and just as hard. Yesterday I tried the same thing with wet mud and got aa rock pack. I think water might have got by the go devil. Any thoughts? |

Pump the mud out as much as you can by dry pumping. Make sure the ball fits snugley some times i wrap the ball in newspaper. I also ram the ball down the reducer with a rod. Fill the hopper with water so you dont have to stop, and hopefully the Pump Gods are with you :). |

I dont understand how the majority of guys clean their lines with water. I feel like I would just be making much more of a mess and limited on water. I have tried it a couple times but it always gets rock packed. I use air everday with no problems and have never see where it could be a saftey hazard if common sense is used. |

What do you carry around for a portable air compressor?

I have one of those wheel barrel compressors. that pressures my water tank also. there has been a couple times where I have had my water tank, compressor and 300' of line on my shortbed pickup |

Here's a pic of my rig about 200' of pipe and 150' of hose. Quick dump from 250 gal tank to hopper and to run 4300psi pressure washer. also about 150' of garden hose to find a hydrant if needed |

Stole the water tank and quick dump into the hopper from "Big Ed" in Clarksville TN. Also pressure washer on the rig. So do you also water wash with a pig or sponge from your hopper after washing in out? |
