More common in every industry than you'd care to believe.

This goes on in all Major Cities anyway. In Philly it is common for Sanford and Son get a demo job like this.

This was a private job but even city and state funded demo they take the minority contractor who is lowest bid. This job was a result of a property owner that has no respect for demolistion as you see Many.

I am very much aware of what happened on this job. Job Force Labor. 8 to 10 dollars an hour. Rented equipment. The rental company is a good respectable company but to me they have some responsiblity to be sure a qualified operator is on the equipment. But he cannot control when a Property Owner rents the equipment and hires out Job Force Labor to do the work. Sad but true, it goes on everyday.

They are trying to keep the Job Force Labor thing quiet as it is a City Run Labor Pool. It will come out soon.

I posted this as a learning tool as to what will/can happen to an operator. They will be investigating the contractor, meanwhile the guy has is own problems now.

These were reported by the UNIONS as unsafe conditions to OSHA, CITY and all others. These guys are LABOR FORCE workers. By the day hackers from the streets that come out to get enough money for the next hit or whatever.

Rental equipment. THis will all come out. The City has done ok to hide these reports but it will be out this week about City monitored Labor Force Workers. 8 to 10 an hour.

sounds like to me , the job wasnt very well planned , and coordinated, but also sounds like this operator has had multiple reasons to maybe not put his self in this position ? Multiple charges and convictions for drugs , may warn you of the dangers of hiring a former convict with a history of drug abuse to tear down a building in a high traffic area for pedestrians, demolition is a VERY DANGEROUS and unstable environment to have pedestrians in , no way should have there been any innocent pedestrians in a hazardous area , crane operator was high, sounds like city officials, all planners, well they must've been smoking the mean green themselves or just plain stupid , think I'd rather be high, atleast I'd have a excuse !

I also think its to easy to blame this on the crane driver. Was he the boss of this building site or just a worker? Who's plan was it to do this job like this? One wrong move from the crane operator and people die?? Thats not the way it should be. Ok he was maybe high but was he? Or did he just smoke a joint the day before and it was still in his blood? Just because he did weed doesn't mean he should automaticly get the blame for killing people..

I do know , that they can tell by a blood test down to the hour you smoked or did certain drugs, no matter the case civilians was allowed in a area of danger and I don't think that was his doing.
