I haven't run either one, but I imagine that a 4 section boom that telescopes in and out would be much easier to run then trying to configure 5 small sections in crazy set ups. |

I have only ran the Putz but I will tell you the customers had used both and told me they preferred the Putz over the Schwing. Of course it couldhave been allin the operator alos ;-). Now that doesnt say anything about the operation of the unit but it does speak volumes beacause you want to make the customers happy. The Putz 31z is a sweet machine. Probably my favorite to run out of the many of pumps I have had the pleasure to run. |

I have not run either machine, it seems to me that the Schwing boom would be less complicated to operate and I do like the fact that it also has 540 degrees of slewing which would minimize the chance of showing up on the job and not being able to unfold because the boom is wrapped around the wrong side of the truck. On the other hand, I really do like the Putz. S-tube and 16 cell pump kit (lots of pressure), and the Putz seems to be more operator friendly in terms of storing hoses with it's nice low decks. How complicated is this boom to operate in comparison with a 5 section RZ ? I would really like to hear from anyone that has operated either of theses machines, especially regarding which outrigger configuration they preffer (Putz. has swing out rears, whereas Schwing uses telescoping back outriggers) |

16 Cell if the boom is closed on the wrong side it doesnt mean you cant do the job!! Its happend to me plenty of times all I do is find somewere to put the legs straight down lift the boom veritcal and put it on the other side.. Problem solved!! It might take 10mins to do but the job gets done !! I think a lot of ppl forget 9 out of 10 times theres a way to do the job safley you just have to think about it more.. |

I realize that, and believe me, have done so many times. What I am getting it is that it's much more time efficient not having to spend the extra 10 mins to spin the boom around off-site. |
