I have a 1983 Schwing 801 and the up and down throttle control on the remote will not respond! Anybody have a idea on what could be wrong? Fuse, Breaker or ? |

My guess would be the electricly controlled hydraulic selonoids mounted on the pump frame usually mounted on the passenger side behind the water box, which controls the throttle cable. One side is throttle up the other down, if not there check the harness, and all connections. |

If its a 28m, the throttle control may be mounted in the tool box on passenger side |

A quick check would to be push in on the pin, (use something like a small phillips screw driver, on each end of the controller. If you have the pre-tension oil pressure ,it should operate. If it doesn't, check your cable that it hasn't been put into some sort of bind as well as the sliding linkage at the engine. After that, get your test light out- |

Don't over complicate things.Check that pesky cable to inj pump,a more likely cause. |

Have someone press the buttons while you hold a test light at the plug on your solonoids. If you have power then take off the solonoids and with fine emery cloth clean the tube the soloniods are on. Sometimes they get weak and if there is any rust on the tube then they will not work. If both up and down do not work it sounds like either the power wire to both switches in the remote box has come loose or its in the cord. You can manually actuate the throttle by taking a nail and sticking into the end of the tube that the solonoid is on and pushing the button there. One way for up and the other side for down. The old 800 or 801's - used to fix them in my sleep. Make sure you you have a long electrical jumper wire, duct tape and tie wire, allen wrench for your throttle valves and the nylon ring and o rings for your pressure cartridges and you are good to go! Good Luck |

check the throttle cable for free movment. I assume that you have a cabled remote . start at the soleniods on the accuator (the mse valve) and work your way back to the remote box for power issues. the hyd . feed for the throttle control comes from the return to tank line via the agitator system. It is controlled by a pretension valve mounted on the hyd. tank. Not going into detail on how to check for the correct setting on the pretension . you can manually push the botton on the soleniods to veryify pretension. if you have checked all the above issuses and it is still not working .There is a chance that the aluminun block mounted between the mse vavle and accuator has developed a interanl leak (crack) and is locking it up. most of the accuators where mounted it the side box for that vintage and have seen some mounted in the turret. Just my two cents good luck.
