Safety TipOperators should be well versed in set-up with the following Safety Tip from the ACPA. “Shortrigging” describes the act of not extending the outriggers on the side away from the pour. Shortrigging is not recommended, but under certain conditions it may be required, and can be done safely if proper procedures are followed. If it is not possible to extend the outriggers on the side away from the pour, the unit can be set-up with the outriggers jacked down but not extended. Note: Schwing’s EASy system is a safe one-sided outrigger system that utilizes the Vector controls to properly set-up the pump and keep the boom within the working range limitations. EASy can expand the safe operating area with up to 200-degrees of boom rotation on the pour side depending on the Schwing model. EASy is standard on all Schwing booms from 43 to 61-meters and optional on small pumps down to the S 28 X. See the EASy system in action. |
