This operator is breaking the "one to one" rule by setting up too close to the excavation. Some viewing this post might think it is proper. This is not a save set up.

WRONG AGAIN!!! there is a 3 foot step up in the wall where my rear outrigger is sitting. notice the weep hole pipes in the wall. come on man, don't think for one second i don't know how to do my job. you don't make it as long as i have by not knowing..

I'm with you muddy! It stands fine. Getting so tired of all those that simply follow the rules. Wonder if they forget how to think for them selves. Ok.. You are a CLOSE to the edge but not too close for my idea.

I put the dunnage under the out rigger so it puts pressure long ways with the excavation. If i had put it long ways it would put pressure on the edge of the cut. therefore  there could be a chance of the cut rolling off.

cool. brett runs it now, i just had to use it for that job. its pretty hard to beat a putz. i put stuff on here all the time so these guys can tell me how bad of a job i am doing. i would like to see how many jobs a year they turn down because the situation is NOT "text book".

jj707 09-09-2010

yes theyre custom made and if I remember theyre 42"x36" its been a while or either 32"x36" seems like they werent the same width and length for storage reasons but they are definitely sweet.

Looks like a good set up to me, I know I've done more than a few tricky set ups my self... but if you are posting this to be picked apart I will point out that your dunnage is done incorrect... the 2x4s have gaps between them so so dont have the full surface area of the outrigger pad suported so at best your only spreading the load on half of the area of your pad.... just sayin :)

Looks like a 42m putz,Yes??? I love that rig. Set up is cool, and F***em if they cant take a joke

quick little fyi tood, its not a "one to one" rule, putzmeister clearly states that a>2t(a being dist. down and t being dist. away), in other words you need to be at least 2 feet away for every one foot down.

The name says it all... YOUNG GUN.. you aint got a clue. you can comment on this when you call yourself OLD GUN.

Sorry Muddy. But I'm with young gun. The rule is actualy like he says. Only who sticks to it?? I always judge the situation. If I feel its right than it right but I keep AT LEAST 1 to 1. But the rule is 2 to 1.

Young gun is right. See the stikkers on your outriggers.

I am very aware of what it says on the outrigger but it doesn't fly in the real world. read the ACPA manual. that seems to be all of you guys BIBLE.

Dipstick 09-15-2010
reply profile send pm notify

haha. If all the manufacturers say 1 to 2 who is ACPA than to say its not. Let me guess... The A stands for American??

Sorry mate. Not my bible at all..

No offence to America though!! Just that I live in europe so they don't work for me.
