wow, it got me thinking, what would it be like if you knew your competitor was taking pictures of your bad set up and posting it online. lol I dont know if its a good idea or a bad one but it is an idea.

BAD idea.  if i see a bad set-up or something leading to trouble,  i stop what ever im doing and ask the operator what he thinks of the set-up.  if he's none responcive call his office.  im sure they would be happy to be informed from competition then an OH&S officer.

I for one will not post any pic of other pump and a bad set-up.  I will post pic after the pump has fliped.

wow! Todd i had to look at that pump a couple of times. If that pump was in the states i would swear that it was one from the company that i work for. if you look at my pics the boom is identical. i would even go so far as to say that it is an identical 38z boom as what i run on highrise.

Actually as far a setups go I think this is a good one.  I hate short rigging but sometimes it is your only option.  When I short rig I really make sure my load bearing side is stable, lots of dunnage even if the ground seems stable.

I know am stating the obvious here, but these are times when the operator really has to be on his game. Stay in your range.  No forgetting that you are short rigged and then swinging around to pump back into the mixer.

By the way...what are some people's opinions on this?  I have heard that you can swing around to the back of your pump, a -framed as long as you don't swing past the center of your pump, thus putting weight on the short rigged side? I'm not trying to start a safety war here just want some opinion

It is no problem to do that , as long the endhose don´t pass the shortrigged backleg . Not on a Schwing S42SX , 34m 32m or a Schwing 23m....

And another brand who start with a P works fine to from 20m to 46m....Havent tested no bigger but as long You are "inside" the square of your supportleg with the endhose it is no problem , but I´ve have not tested this on a "overhead roll and fold"....

Looks like someone got a great deal on a 36z from the US!

A good deal for sure, Joey.  Especially with the Euro/Dollar exchange rate.

Short rigging isn't the most ideal way to set up, but if done properly can be done safely.  However, shortrigging the working side is just plain stupid.  I don't know if this pump is a 32m or a 36m.  The 32m has a samaller outrigger stance than a 36m, so I can't make a fair judgement on the rear outrigger in these pictures.  To me, the rear leg looks like it isn't all the way deployed--and that's if this is a 36m.

Could be the angle of the picture - I don't know...and it may be a 32m???

Here's a picture of a 36m with the rear outrigger all the way deployed...What do you all think?

 minimicks -

Thanks for the clarification!  I thought it could be a 32m but wasn't sure.

wesdogg, good eye.  they could be phone/cable lines but still...1 amp is enough to give you a good jolt...
