The question is...... With the big down turn in business should there be a World of Concrete this year?  After looking at the present situation this would be a bad year to consider everyone spending all that extra money to attend the show.  What kind of turn out do we expect?

I could really be wrong about this but...

i think there will be about the same amount of vendors. just because of the old addage "in good times you should advertise, in bad times you must"

And as for attendees, me personally, this is my only tax deductable getaway. And therefore I'll go.

I'll be the funny looking guy with a canada flag on my hat and a tee shirt that says: your  economy is as good as your beer!!!lol

I cant wait to go to WOC, as a new commer to the industry I can't wait to meet new people. You have to remember there is always new generations that want to experience, learn and meet others. OH YEAH VEGAS BABY!!

OK, let me put this another way...

I wonder if the manufacturers look at this in the same way.  For those of you who are only going to see the show....You have no idea of what it costs for someone to have a booth.  The expense of setting up a booth, bringing in the equipment, hotel rooms for the crew, travel and food for the crew, and then everything else, I would say a tipical expense could exceed well over $100,000.00

With the big down turn in business I have to ask how the manufacturers can afford this added expense in a year like this.

Yes, I agree that advertising is very important, and the WOC is a good place to show your stuff.  Are these companies looking forward to it this year?

Money for this years show was to a large extent spent last year. The interesting question in my mind is; with things going rather badly now, and not much to look forward to in the near future........ how grand will next years show be?

The way booth space is awarded you can't allow your company to NOT be there or you will be at a disadvantage in future shows.

So if you are planning on going out of business; by all means, don't exhibit if you wish to remain in the game you must go

Catch 22 ;~)
