Wow and i mean WOW my Co. and a few hundred others would say there crazy for not only having a dbl ended hose on the boom but a S tube. They are not enforcing the standard there helping tear it down. I recall an episode of Dirty Jobs ware they were pouring a slab with a dbl end 4" hose they ended up getting a call and actually redid the episode. I hope the industry changes in a positive but these things that kill need to be enforced not just in 1,10 but all U.S. states with clear and equal standers. I truly hope this forum that Todd and a few others have built will help spread the word. Maybe this sight will be checked buy someone on that job and there practice will change for the sake of SAFTY!

I've been trying to check that video out all day, maybe it won't work for a Canadian IP address?  Has it worked for any other Canucks?

On top of the safty issue. It always seems these programs never show whats really going on. They never showed the operator running the seperate placing boom and didnt really show the pump. Kinda wonder what they got against us. I think we have a very complex and interesting job.

isnt the porpose of running an s-tube or double 90 on the end hose to make it not splatter and come out slow. looks like it was splattering alot. And if they were using that thing to control air loss, than why would they let their column mud fall 12'

really liked how he was pusing the hose as far as he could talking about how much forse the hose has, yet didnt think about the decapitation that could happen in the blink of an eye.

Thanks for the video capture, Todd.  That's a 5" death mace on the end there, with as little of a direction change there is, it does absolutely no good in slowing the flow down, but it would do a hell of a job to clear a guys head off!

Double-ended hose, with a double S elbow. This combo is not allowed, and is deadly. The contractor supes are beginning to take note of double-ended hoses; many are not allowing them for end-of-boom use anymore. Education is key. Operators, please keep telling them, sooner or later they listen.
