Found a sidewinder line pump, early 80's maybe... sitting in weeds taller than the unit. swing tube, looks to be 5 or 6" material clys. lombardi 4 cly. diesel. probably needs to be totally rebuilt, minus the diesel engine. probably could pick it up for less than 1,000USD. Does anybody know of parts avalibality? anyone ever had any experience with them? I currently own a 05' Schwing P305. Thinking about a back up pump or mabey putting another pump on-line. Good, bad, ulgy... what do you guys think?

You can get some sweet deals on pumps right now. I think if you look out there you will find a 2050, 301 or a like for less then it would take to get it back where you need it.

sidewinder concrete pumps over here in the uk were made by crowhamelton in scotland we used to buy the hopper and s valve and put the on the back of a ransome and rapier the uk version of a gate valve schwing in fact schwing took ransome and rapier to court about there gate valve system saying its copy of a gate vave schwing schwing won the court battle and ransome and rapier stopped making concrete pumps

Sidewinder spare parts are mostly still in stock. Contact, George Clingerman at Transcrete America Inc. The diesel engine would normally be a VM if it was an imported model from Australia. Deutz if USA built by the Bennett  Bros in Southgate, CA. If the diesel has not taken in water, it will in all events be ok. Wear parts, piston cups, S-tubes etc are all interchanged with Transcrete America's Trojan models.

Email photos to transcreteamerica@yahoo.com and they can identify exact model.

It is possible that the pump you''re looking at is an old REED licensed Sidewinder. Look on the frame - if the serial number starts with 3. something - it may be a REED. We've still got some parts lying around, too - you can see a heavily marked-up parts manual here:

Here's what the pump looks like:

Just for fun...

thanks guys. the unit I saw was like the one in the reed flyer, with the guy shotcreting the wall. I couldn't find any plates with info on them other than the engine, which was a lombardi diesel from italy. I think I might just get another newer pump if I decide to expand.
