OK, PumpKid 88, if you want to communicate with the grown-ups on the site, the first thing you need to do is drop the 'txt tlk', you've got a full keyboard in front of you, and no limit to the number of characters you can enter.  Please use proper spelling, grammar and sentence structure in your posts.

That would've been me Mr. Murf. We all know how to reed and wright so if it makes sense and you're pick'n up what he's lay'n down then skool is out!

Pumpkid there are plenty of line guys on this site. Not just operators either, some of them have a fleet of line pumps. I was pretty young when I started line pumping too. From the sounds of it that's where most of the really good operators come from. It aint all about boom'n buddy. Like I used to tell em "I got more draggin than you got hang'n"

There are plenty of pumpkids out there too. I got a couple of my own, I'm growing my own operators, they might even know more than some of the hotshots out there. Check em out...

That's big brother boomer up there. This is my line pumper, now that he can see over the steering wheel he's boom'n too! As you can see they are much younger than 20...

hay PumpKid_88, I think Justin & Kaleb win in the age department...(that’s a pretty cool pic of Justin TT) and it probably won’t be long before they are correcting all us “grown-ups” on our spelling to:-)!! Anyhoo, here are some pics of a little exposed driveway I did couple weeks ago on my line hands pump.

I welcome him to the forum, BUT..

I understood his message, I did my part to interpret it, perhaps a little effort to communicate properly on his part is on order.  An occasional spelling error or forgotten punctuation is passable.  But a run-on collection of 'words' like he strung together puts me off.

I have to wonder just how much he really cares.  Do you suppose there are pins in his clamps?  Are his hard 90's secured against movement?  If a person is lackidaisical in one area of their life, It leads me to believe that there are others.

I commend him for running a line pump.  It is indeed more work than a boom.  Not many young guys these days would stick with such a physically demanding job.  (Sweat for money, are you kidding?  That's what steroids and a gym membership are for.)   You can leave the gym anytime you want, especially if you've pulled a muscle or gotten a cramp - try that on a pour.

Good on you, Pump Kid.  i just want to be able to rfead your posts without having to interpret it in my head - think how our oversees, English as a second language members must feel.  They probably think you don't even have an understanding of a first languge with your initial post.  Now please put some effort into this.

Everybody has to start somewhere. I started with a mechanical mayco when I was twenty. So far as I can see this web site was created for you young guys coming up the ranks. There was a post not long ago about mix designs and hose size line pumping. All the safety issues that are discussed here are important so you keep pumping and learning.

Here's a pic for you pumpkid.  480 feet up.  I've done a couple 800 footers down hillsides along the water, but I can't find the pics right now, I'll put them up when I find them.

PumpKid_88 just so you know i ran nothing but maycos. I managed a 20 pump company with 20 of those guys and i still hear that sssshhhhhh bam in my head 20 years later. I could read your post just fine by the way. Here is a test for pumpjockey I lvoe lnie Pmpus but there is ntohing lkie a rlleay big puor to get you giong. You see as long as you get the first and last letter in the word right than everyone can read it. Our mind knows what the word is. So no problem keep posting.

We're not pumping into the second truck, just had two at the job and decided to have one guy drive the hose up and setup the system at the top, while the other was getting the pump ready to go, and hooking up the system from the bottom up.

nice, it would take 2 c30 to do that job.

Todd don't take this the wrong way, but I hope I never see another C-30 all they are good for is 4000 PSI grout, this 5/45 Olin put them in there place.

Hey right on biged, I just figured you've been around as long as pumps have been pumping. I remember stories well I just cant always remember who was telling them. My first boss is push'n 70 and still pumping with the same little Schwing I learned on, He is truly one of my heros!

Pumpjokey thanks for the new favorite word! >"Lackidaisical"<. You know there are two sides to that story, just because someone is lackidaisical in some areas does'nt mean that he is overall. I happen to be the exact opposite of what you described. I've been trying to put as much effort into my personal life as I do with my occupation. My wife always says that she wishes I took care of everthing at home like I take care of my pump and profession. Lets just say that while pump is greased and shiny my pick up is still sporting its winter coat (of dirt) and needs and oil change and wiper blades. I will cut my arm off trying to make it to a job on time but I was over an hour late to my own wedding!!! Poor woman, I love her so.

TooTall  I  have been in construction all my life but I was on the job long after the mud had dried,I don't think I ever saw a concrete pump till I started my own, I keep pinching my self to see if this is a bad dream LOL ,one thing for sure the ball valve pumps are very easy to run and to fix when something breaks but mix designs are critical to pump without plugging.

Biged---Personally I think the c-30 is a great pump. Started running them on the weekends when I was 15. In SW FL that is all that was used execpt for big slabs. I even pumped 22 floors up (using two pumps)As far as being young and getting no respect Kid it will come later on. I was thrown off a job as soon as I jumped out of a 42 cause the super thought I was like 18 but in fact I was 28 at the time (I look young) Hang in there Kid, dont let it bother you. Just do your job and do it well you will get all the respect in the world.
