Very very durable, G shock and water proof.

Are these status boxes for the operators to send updates to dispatch?

Yes kind of, it is the electronic job ticket so you can go paperless. When the operator fills out the job ticket the  office gets the info right away, they can bill the job before the operator gets back to the yard. The operator can also communicate with the office on them.

Should be able to go one step further to make that an app with a licence to down load to a cell phone. Thats how we keep track of hours and location. Xactime is the program we use.
