it is too big, too heavy, and without guidance on the road forget it.

O my god I am already in love! And cool that they build it on a crane chassis. That gives much more chance for countrys with weight restrictions to get permit to use this thing... Wonder what it will cost and if anyone will ever make a dollar profit on running this thing...

You are right GRACIA.. You will need guidance and all that. And why would anyone absolutely need a so big pump? A big crane you HAVE to have in some situations but these 20/30 meters extra reach can almost always be solved by using extra line and maybe a crane.. On high buildings you can mount a standpipe and a seperate boom... The rates for this thing must be like double or tripple of what a 42m costs per hour. Who would want to pay that??

I guess its more like a prestige project. SANY just wants to have the biggest pump.. And thats ok for me !! I would LOVE to runn one like this some day in my life but that chance is just as big as me winning the lotery i'm afraid...

China has some of the largest projects in the world right now. Who knows better than Sany what is needed out there.

You're gonna need some mad skills on the remote! With delay and boom flex, you're gonna be operating today for tomorrows work! I want it!

Believe it or not, I was short with a 61m about 3 days a week. Ive pumped up to to 350' of system, but normal was only about 50'. I have even boomed straight up to hook up to pipe that were hanging down the side of the building to get to the system laid on the roof. I always wished it was like a crane and they could just add another section of boom.

The 72m pump says 143,299 lbs dead weight

I hope this pump will not be financed at 0% and start doing house foundations, like the rest of the "big sticks." lol.........

There was a time that they thought who is gona need a 42

gboom 09-20-2011
reply profile send pm notify

well said Curley, I am sure that both Schwing and Putz are capable of building a boom like that, the question still remains, who needs a boom like that?

SANY's 72 meter is a 6-axle chassis configuration that was not designed to meet North American road regulations.  The additional weight of the Putz 70 meter id due to the 10-axle tractor/trailer configuration needed to meet DOT, not design or stability

I just thought... Why would all concretepumps have to be able to go totaly horizontal? A mobile crane can't always go totaly horizontal without counter weight eighter .

I mean: If you want to build a 100meter concretepump to poor sky skrapers and so on (high bridge collums etc..) you could build it specialy for the hight and not so much for the long horizontal reach..

So smaller footprint and all that.. To small for going flat but enough to go 60 meters up and 40 flat or whatever..  Computers should be able to prevent the operator from going to far flat and tipping the truck..

Just a crazy thought of course. I got a name already.. We call it a concrete elevator instead of concrete pump!!

86meters @ 314 yards per hour no way possible that this machine will be able to handle that kind of output, I run a 38m 20 cell 260 yards per hour flat out dangerous machine you can very easily kill someone with 110 ft of boom muchless with 250 ft, very nice looking machine but Im interested in seeing it pump without killing someone in the process, I hope it does, would be a nice addition to the industry, really like that chassis, but I would really like to see it setup and pumping and see what kind of output is realistic I would think 100-150 yph is all your gonna be able to get and still have contol of the boom.

It will probably take almost 2 hours just to get the outriggers set up right along with laying down the right amount of dunnage/cribbing.  Hopefully this truck isn't underengineered, unlike Sching and Putzmiester who have pumps still running from the 1970's and 1980's. Great idea, and a huge advance in our industry, but is it about a good pump that is needed, or for bragging rights.

Beast makes a great point about the output, and if it will be safe at that volume.  We need pics or videos ASAP of this unit in action!!

I hope that it is for actual requirement and not for bragging rights.

Will be gr* to see it on site.
