I have had quite a few folks ask me (in private messages) how they can keep their pump clean, shiny and degreased. I use the Ripper 1 watered down.... for grease, its the best stuff I have ever used. http://www.hotsyequipment.com/Detergents.html they have great soap, but I like mild stuff, not to damage the paint. I NEVER use Acid. thats a No. No. not only will it ruin your paint but will eat everything else critical in its path ! I always do my cleaning in the A.M. or P.M when its cooler, some of you guys dont have to worry about this. I wax the pump as much as possible (time permitting) there are lots of good waxes out there. I use a Meguiar's "deep crystal" Carnuba liquid. It gives a great shine , and for those specks of concrete , they wipe right off. When I am in between washing and waxing ,I use a soft towel and hand wipe the boom and the truck, sometimes using Meguiar's Quick detailer spray. Some guys clean some dont ,I have seen this for a long time, It is my personal pref. I clean the boom pipe, insides of outriggers, the frame, you name it I clean it , I know , I know I am Anal. LOL All in All you just have to stay on it and not let it go, no matter how long of day I have had I always park it clean ! Hope this helps for those that were asking Brian OE-3 |
