i cant belive how many sad bridges there are in nc,wood bridges with asphalt over the top and now dot says their is a spending freeze.ive seen a few that i would'nt drive my car across

We had an operator cross a weight limit bridge a few years ago in a 47 meter, and we got a hefty fine for it. His excuse was he had to "use the restroom" and by crossing that bridge instead of getting back on the interstate, he could get back to the shop about 20 minutes quicker. Let me tell you it was a very expensive s***. Moral of the story, If you got to go then you got to go, but don't cross a weight limit bridge to do it. LOL

You forgot one!! I love the way they give you advance notice that there is a low tonnage bridge or road ahead! NOT!! Happily cruising down the road when you come upon a 20 ton bridge 3 miles from the nearest turnaround! I've backed up that far at least twice, and once,by the time I saw it the only thing I could do was pour the coal to it & PRAY!! Getting back around was even tougher,but when I started getting worried was when I saw a guy playing a banjo on the porch! Ya gotta love NC!
