Does any one know any thing about Sundstrand hydraulic pumps. I have heard a few negative comments about any mid 90's pump with a Sundstrand Hyd. pump . Any info would be appreciated. |

Yes I do have some experience with sundstrand pumps in Putzmeister concrete pumps. I can help with some info but I am not a pump engineer. Depending on the question I can help some. E Mail woodsa@putzam.com |

The earlier versions the PV23, PV24 and Twin pumps DPV24+23, DPV24+24 are generally long lasting. They did have some problems with cracks in the hosuing around the trunion which was said to be caused by charge pressure being too high and some instances poor casting. They may be sensive to high rev HP input although no real proof of this. They do have the tendency to make a whining noise whilst normal operation. The PV25 were said to have issues they were the later generation around 1995+ and many were recalled and replaced. Keep your oil clean, filters renewed and they will give you good service. |
