I dont think people know how often it happens. I have a ton more pictures of turned over pumps, no need to show them just saying it happens more often than you would think.

Todd 01-10-2012

From what I hear Putz has one of the hardest pumps to flip over.

the first picture looks like a 58 to me. . the rear axle you can see is a steer axle you only get them on the 58 & 63's

Admin edit, dear, I hide behind my Profile name guy, if you cant say it nicely dont say. Why are you so pissed off.

Most if not all tip overs are directly responsible because of operator error, plain and simple. No manufacture makes a boom that is tippy when set up properly to there specs. these accidents happen because owners do not want to pay for training , There are many stories of men that have never ran a boom before getting less than 7 days on the job training before they are out booming over a crew of finishers.

Or old hands , that get careless and forget what there job is .Again operator error.

Dont blame the manufactures, blame the maan running the controls.

hey "bcantor" mayb put some info and pics up sooner than later before saying things like this about Todd and Mudcup on the other posting

I was referring to the OSS outrigger system. Putz has a one sided support as standard feature on 42 through 63 meter boom pumps. One of the pictures that we were talking about was a newer putz that was short rigged. I was short on time and did not really explain myself well. So I personally think if your short rigging a Putz with this OSS system would be a harder pump to tip over.

Besides I am not talking crap about schwing, we have a putz picture up here that is tipped over short rigged and I am just defending them. Besides bcantor dont get your panties in a wad, i can have an opinion. You dont have to get all pissy.

boony 01-11-2012

the guy on the 31 just wanted an easier way to get his hoses off

The Cat 01-11-2012
reply profile send pm notify

the first rear  axle on the 52 is a drive axle and one in the picute is a steer axle .. the 58's first section is also a single ram configuration not like 63's there dual ram's on the first section's

mothy 01-12-2012

its the cheap help the companies are hiring and kicking the veterens to the curb is why there are so many pumps flipping

Dipstick 01-12-2012
reply profile send pm notify

Agree. Although the stupid thing is that at the company where I used to work I would also have said that.. And then they get 3 tipovers and a huge crash between 2 pumps at the yard and its all guys with loads of experiance... Damm there goes my theory..

Maybe its because they send the best guys to the most difficult jobs with the biggest pumps? Or experiance might make you get to easy? A new guy might be more afraid and put down some extra dunnage?

The other day we received information that a Putz M20 tipped over.

No details yet, but let's say it's the same customer who thought his pump was much lower than the bridge could handle...

Pumpkiller 02-13-2012

Yep,usually operator error, we had a guy flip a 42m Putz,he was short rigged on one side and fully out on the other, guess which side the idiot boomed over
