As you see they use crane and bucket for those, and it's only at half height now.

This is were the road will be:

We poured the foundations 1 year ago, it's somewhere down here:
Photobucket 1000 cubicmetres in each, 200+ metres of line and a height difference of 100 metres.
Took about 36 hours each...

But this is what we poured now:

Anchoring boxes for the wires, 600 cubics of SCC in each, some 40 metres of concrete with the rock sandwiched in between.

On top we had 5" line with 4 outlets with valves going down into the form in a chute.
About 36 hours on each pour inside the tunnel and 30+ on the outside with 450 cubics of SCC.
Unfortunately the battery on my camera went flat before we finished, but we will be pouring the northside in a couple of months, so more to come.

Damm. I was so disapointed to find out we would not be doing those poors. Its only 2 hours away from us. I've been pooring before in bruravik. Where are you stationed now than?? Hope you have a good time there!! enjoy ;-)

(ps. I heared someone from Ølen is gona drive pumi at gjerde soon. Not you I guess???)

Hi there Dipstick. Right now I'm stationed around Haugesund.
But might be transfered to Bergen or Finnmark later in the winter, don't know, and really don't care. I like changes. :D

Yep, heard rumours about a guy from us starting with Gjerde, but it's a rookie with under a year experience from pumping and before that under a years experience driving mixertrucks for Unicon on the bridge project I just posted about.
But he's a good kid with a will to learn if he gets a good teacher and he don't mind the long hours. :D

That's good. We'll teach him ;-)

But I don't get it. Haugesund is 3,5 or 4 hours from that bridge depending on which side of the fjord.. You'd almost have to spend the night there while we make the trip up and down easy in one day. Must be the price than..

Yeah, it's a long drive.
But then we have time for a night or two on a hotel and a few beers... :D
