I want to “Thank†everyone that attended the Educational Seminar in Las Vegas — “What’s in your Walletâ€, presented by Ben Snyder with WS Group, PC.
We had a good turn out and it was well outlined for a pumping contractor to figure his budget for the upcoming year, monthly costs, yardage costs, and knowing the costs per hour for his operation and his cost per yard for their maintenance costs. Based on these costs a company can figure his selling price of his services to his customer base.
The O’Brien Companies absorbed the costs of this presentation because we truly believe our industry must change the pricing of their services or they will self destruct.
We hope you can attend the seminar in Colorado in October for our industry.
Please feel free to comment on the seminar so we may improve it for our future.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Richard O’Brien

Does anyone believe that you can pump at prices below the attached outline in today's economy and utilization? Please show me how and we'll forward that information ion! If not then why as an industry are we giving away our services and loosing money each month?

The only thing I see that should be added/changed on this price limit is inside this "metro" area is, the travel charge and operator charge should be swapped out and it's place should be the hourly rate for the travel that should begin when the unit/operator leaves the yard thru out clean up. ANd the minimum should be based on size of unit some thing along the lines of trailer pump thru 32m 4hour min, 36, thru 47m 6hr min. and 52m thru 63m 8hr min. And to simply for contractors and billing purposes have the permits included in these minimums. The time you have your office people breaking down every last invoice and separating everything including drive time yard time pump time just on your operator.s paycheck is ridiculous. You can still double check that stuff and make sure you are getting proper utilization on each unit. |

Mr. OBrien, I can not believe you still have the fire to continue to personally expend the effort and resources to try to make sense to those that have no sense to make this a real sustainable industry. Everyone ultimately owes you the pricing scheme that you developed and most of the companies that exist today are there because of the huge expense you bared to train most of the management and owners either directly or indirectly. My personal thanks to you! |

Val, Same for me when he comes to Phoenix, but I think something stronger than coffee is in order. We can discuss how he took a customer of mine of 12 years by giving them the pump for almost nothing with a screed they already had. I was getting prices he only dreamed of but couldn't compete with almost free that he offered. Maybe Bone could join us and talk about the $85 an hour boom pumps they also gave away when things were booming here not so long ago. Rod |

Valerie I would appreciate it if you could send me that file. Not that the rates would apply in our country but I would like to develop something that works for the pumpers here. awt@internet.co.nz |
