UNLUCKY PUMPING AND PEETE PUMPER -V- INNOCENT PASSENGERS ON CHURCH BUS RETURNING FROM DAY CAMP DEPOSITION OF PEETE PUMPER Mr. Pumper, on July 4. 1776 were you the operator on Carefree Construction project at Yes, Mr. Lawyer, I sure was. Mr. Pumper, how long have you been an operator? Well, I have been operating a pump for 22 years and have operated every thing there ever was and am a Certified, by gosh operator and am real good at what I do. And you can just call me Peete. All right then, Peete; Perhaps you can tell me in your own words what led up to the accident in question No problem, Lawyer man. I was on this here job and the super asked me to take off my hard hat, my safety boots and my safety glasses and unfold my boom and stick it straight up in the air and drive around the jobsite as fast as I can with a blindfold on and a power line attached to the hopper grate. One moment there Peete. As a qualified operator; didn’t this seem like an unusually dangerous situation? Isn’t it up to the operator to be the final arbiter of what is and is not safe to do on a job? Yup, sure as shooting And as a qualified/ certified by gosh operator… didn’t this seem like a real dangerous situation? Well, yea… duh… it was crazy!!! Well then, Peete, will you tell me why you did it? Sure, Mr. Lawyer man. The job super said he would accept all the liability |
