I get caught up in nostalgia about the old days too. When 28 m sizing was norm and even considered big by residential guys. Im not really all that impressed by the big stick race. I think at times big sticks came out of poor planning on job sites. I do remember when safety was more common sense than an excuse to avoid liability.Ehen if you did twist your ankle stepping off your pump tripped no 2 by 4 the boss didnt hate you for pushing compo rates up he just made sure you were ok and if you needed a couple days off you took it and went right back at it , no stress no fuss .. but i digress |

Very valid point on the different attitudes in how an injury used to be handled - V - how it is now. 40 years ago people did not think of LOTTERY BY LITIGATION. It was "Get well soon." not "Get rich quick." |

It isn't the lawyers fault any more than the cop is the reason for the rise in crime. It is the 'me first' attitude that has weakened our society; it is what has led us to where we are now. |
