ITS HERE!!! Like Christmas to a child, Hunting (Kill'n) season is at hand. Fish can be caught on weekends or even after work but hunting... Well lets just say it takes alot more than an afternoon. I for one have prayed every opening eve...Deer heavenly father, please bless me once again with a healthy buck so I can feed my family and keep my job. Year before last I did'nt tag out until the late hunt. In other words I did'nt see a razor for several weeks, slept many-o-nights in my pick-up and climbed out of a tree-stand in the morning instead of my bed. After showing up in full camo smell'n like doe piss the boss was concerned, to say the least.

This season I am with a new employer (non-sportsman) and the primal instincts are surfacing more & more with every falling leaf. Some days I swear I can smell 'em. I've put in for 2 days off for opening weekend, Any more and I risk returning to trashed pumps and the shop & office being burnt down & plundered. I cant be the only one this happens to? I come from a long line of sportsmen and have seen many losses like wives, women & jobs. From gramps on down to younger brother, whos gets it far worse that me, He wont even Bathe!  So here we go again, Deer Heavenly Father.......

Rules & Regs.....Too Damn many!

Personal Rules...Tags taste like $hit...Buck or Doe - Down they go! A mans gotta eat. (lol)

Then again thats coming from someone who never knew there was an actual "Season" to hunt until I took hunters safety at age 9. Before then I can remember game hang'n in the basement on my birthday, IN JUNE!

I change my previous statement. I come from a long line of poachers & killers I guess. There were no trophy mounts on the walls but the freezer and mouths were always full.

The rules & regs fill a 66 page book that grows 2 to 4 pages every year. From season start and finish dates, legal areas, Firearm restrictions, Size limits, Transport policy, Anual possesion limits, There's even some areas that only allow 4 rounds of ammo per hunter! Thats just for modern firearm, Then there's rules for archery, muzzle loader/blackpowder, trapping, hound hunting, falconry... Like I said TOO many and you better know em all. I've been told directly by a Dept. of fish & game judge, "ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law" (just prior to sentencing) I still cant resist the primal instincts, not that I try to.

Wild hog= 1 Pitbull and a Bowie knife

Deer= 3 dogs and a pointed stick {3' long}

Mule Deer or Elk= 5 dogs and a pointed stick {5' long}

I lost a 140 lb. American Bulldog to a nasty boar 3 years ago. 1 of 4, "Hurc" I miss him every day. I had cut vests made out of water buffalo hide 3/4" thick. took 6 30/30 rounds in the forehead to put it down. You must have some real sharp sticks & be one Baad sumbitch to hog hunt indian style! Or your a line-pumper? that would explain it.(lol)
