Friends say a local man is struggling to keep a roof over his head after a boat crash on Lake Nacimiento left him seriously hurt.

Charles Meador broke his neck, punctured a lung and broke other bones when the boat he was in hit some rocks and he was thrown into the water. The upper body cast he is now in has left him unable to run his concrete pumping business and his friends are stepping up to help.

They'll hold a barbeque fundraiser in Templeton July 1 at the Legion Hall. Tickets are $10 and include a BBQ dinner served from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., live music, a raffle, a bounce house for kids, a pig plop and an auction. Friends say any money raised will go toward rent and utilities until Meador can get back on his feet. If you'd like to donate items or purchase tickets, you can do so at Hoover's Beef Palace in Templeton or you can call Rebbecca Moody at 805-712-9505.

$10 for a BBQ dinner, live music, a raffle, a bounce house for kids, a pig plop and an auction.  Sounds like good value for money. Only a bit to far to travel for me. I hope for the guy they get in a lot of money Smile Good luck to him!!!
