$$$ The Value of our $ervice $$$

I have had concrete on my boots for half of my life, I am almost 36 yrs. old. Sadly the price of our service is much the same as the first C.O.D. I collected over 15 years ago. The "value" of service has improved yet the "price" remains the same? The cost of a yard of concrete has doubled, Wages have gone up(a little), Fuel cost etc... But a $300k 32m still brings in the same amount that a $75k Thompson did a long time ago. Why have we let this happen?

Lets say Monday you raised your prices 10%. But you lost 10% of your work. Dont be sad, you should be happy! You have cut your costs by 10% and are still making the exact same amount of $$$! The best part is, the 10% of work you lost will be back soon enough because they've realized the "value" of your service.

Think where we would be if this was done across the board every 3~5 years? We would be right where we should be. If the "concrete pump" had been invented last week and broken down into an operational costs and fees formula. The out come would be...$150 per hr./$3 per yd. and nearly $100 travel! For a 32m!!!!!!

There's no such thing as reading too much. In Forbes magazine there is a "cost & fees" formula. Fill it out and do the math. You'll be amazed at what you should be charging. The rest is basic business 101!

T.T.

You are correct!

The value of our service has increased

The PRICE has not increased

The cost of providing that service has

iam sure the same thing has happened in the trucking industry, look at how many pumps there are out there today compared to the the thomsen days. if all pumps where in rental yards and the weeks cost was the value of the monthly payment the market would change drastically.
