Should you be lucky enough to have a reason to un-fold your boom, Be sure to to keep the area under your boom clear of people, workers, vehicles etc. Watch Out for sheets/chunks of ICE falling from the boom!!!

Ever prime-out and get plugged up with a big slug of ice in the reducer? I have. So while I'm waiting for my first load I hang my whip a couple inches from my exhaust and let it stroke in reverse for a while. This will defrost the boom-pipe, inside & out = No more "slush-plugs"

I guess thats (2) Tips, Take'em or leave'em?   Pump-On!

JUST ICE out here.....

But rather than let the pump stroke backward I place the hose barely on the exhaust and open the swing 90 up and let her smoke!!!

Or just stick a 'dry' ball in there and blow it out with air when your done for the night.
Dry pipe and no more ice-plugs.
But always a good idea to warm your line, never a good idea to put hot mud in a freezing pipe.

Good idea WHO, Open the 90 and then you can let it cook real good. I've wondered and worried about getting the piston heads too hot and have always just idled. Thanks WHO!

I have heard of guys putting some anti-freeze in their back-water (water-box) to avoid having to drain it completley. I dont know of any chemical effects to the rubber heads but I DO know that anti-freeze "kills" & retards concrete! Just like "Rugasol" same color and taste even. So if you have worn piston heads that leak any water into the hopper this could damage the product!!! (Ruin the Mud!)

Antifreeze is glycol or some ..col, wich is an alcohol as the name says, and alcohol is 'liquid' sugar, so it will destroy the mud.
If I felt the need I would rather used hydraulic oil.
I, and as far as I know, everyone else here in Norway, just uses hot water in their water-box.
Just don't fill it up if your in for a long drive, fill it up when you're ready to pump.
Stroke it dry in the evening and so far I've never had any problems. It will keep itself warm through the day.

Putting anything other that water in your "Slush box" is a bad idea. This is another thing I would recommend talking over with your manufacturer.I have been told that this is a great way to bet contaminates into your Hydraulic oil
