Is it possible for you to speak to one of your contacts about a way to incorporate all of the interested users/members of CP.COM into a group health insurance program? Small companies, owner operators and self employed people (like me) pay WAY TOO MUCH for health insurance on our own. Depending on the answer and rates I would guess that some of the ...say 10 pump companies would enjoy a savings in premiums. What would we need to do to qualify as a legitimate group? Some of you are now insured through a spouse; that is great as long as he/she is employed and the company can afford to donate to the premiums. A secure policy with our sized group could be a very positive thing. I know it would help me as well as many people that I have spoken to. And........ you could be a hero ;~) |

I will look into it. I have heard from a few of the smaller companies that they would like to get something started, if there is an interest and i can help than I will do all i can.

Please do not hold your breath waiting for that to happen. You might just turn 'Putz blue' before your coverage is in effect. |

President Bush passed laws a couple of years ago allowing industry to develope programs like this. The problem you run into is the insurance companies are typically not interested because they get adverse selection. By that I mean if you have a healthy group you can get insurance cheaper by yourself than you can by joining a industry group. Typically the people who join a group are not a healthy group. If I were you I would suggest looking into a high deductible with a Health Savings Plan if your self employeed or a Health Reimbursement Plan for your employees. I have a $5,500 family deductible and my monthly premium is $346.83 a month. My annual premium is $4,161.96 + the potential of paying another $5,500.00 in deductibles. If your family is healthy it may be worth trying. I used only $1,147.99 in deductible in 2007. If you would like to discuss please feel free to call me at 913-724-7400.
