I was asked to put a number in on a 38 story high rise. The contractor has his own tower and pumps he is planning on putting two towers up with two booms. He basically wants a price on lobor only. So it's a very hard number to figure out. First of all it's two operators that make 66.00 per hr then I have to figure what I want on top of that , any suggestions?
I'm thinking I have to give him a price per day |

With the mess in the White House you better start at 100.00 per hour { break downs, labor disputes, ready mix problems, over time, safety problems, } If I was giving any numbers it would be cost plus 25 % thats a hard call. |

An hourly minimum! If it's the contractors iron they'll most likely be flyin the booms & stackin tower sections etc.. possibly even handling the blow down. Which means a lot less hours for the operators. Especially on core/sheer wall, column pours etc.. Also consider including at least an hour + prior to every pour to inspect the system, equipment, hardware etc.

66 per hour? How can anyone over there complain about the economy? We get about half that in norway and thats good. We can make a very nice living compared to my dutch colleages and norway is one of the most expensive coutrys in the world!! If I would have 20 hours a week with that pay I still could live quite nice. I start to understand why its so hard to make money in concretepumping in the US... |

http://www.bigmacindex.org/2011-big-mac-index.html Look up Norway.. More than double from the US.. think if I had 10 hour a week in the us with that pay I would make a good living. |

I think what he's saying is two operators X $33.00 per hour per operator, which comes to a grand total of $66.00.... i would think $60-65 per hour per man, would be in the ballpark.... |

Dipstick, that price include taxes and some profit for the employer. I don´t think that money per hour is overkill - if the price include employertaxes and all the other taxes before he can pay the pumper. I suppose you missunderstand that it isn´t the pumpers profit. The pumpers paycheck per hour is probably not that high. Or is it me who have missunderstand it? |

@dipstick you refer to net wages? my pay in belgium is a little over 15 euros but the bosses cost to pay me that 15 euros is more than 40 euro's >social security >pension payement >vacationmoney > taxes. leave alone ensurances, clothing, safetygear, winterprotection,.......... and so on and so on. if a boss has to "rent" you to an ather boss he must calculate all those cost to, no? |
