I've done 7 hours one way a few times. I always wish i had more leg room on those long trips though. |

the entire United States is my working ground, as long as the customer understands he needs to pick up travel costs then I work pretty much anywhere with in America only. I dont travel anywhere I need a visa though. Too much trouble for me to deal with. But I only drive a ford 550 not a mack or pump truck, so it is not as hard on me I guess, and I usually find a reasonable hotel if it is over 10 hour drive . |

I believe the DOT truck weight stations have rules about that. You can only pull something like an eleven hour day that includes working. Suppose to keep a log. I got pinched while driving my new pump back from Chicago. Got up at 3:00AM and had put in 600 miles when pulling into Mn, at around 2:30 pm. Mothers day weekend, I thought they would be closed but not so lucky. Weight station open. They were pissed, my log book wasn't filled out properly, and I was overtime. Fortunately the truck checked out and I pleaded ignorance with respect. I got off with a stern warning. |

Not sure what you're after but 95% of our work is less than 1 hour from home. |

had a pump in our area a few years back the operator had driven across the length of the country straight off a job managed an hour sleep once he had set up. During the pour he fell asleep with remote in hand, Turned out the guy had not seen a bed for over 40 hours. Is this being safe I think not. |

The rules are to protect everyone. Truck driving rules especially.
If you were over hour and got in an accident? The lawyers would put you in jail after taking all you ever had. Last summer I did a lot of pumping 150 miles away, got to go were the work is. |
