how many of you have travled 100 kilometres or farther with the hopper full or without washing-out? |

I used to operate in north carolina and on several days I would grease the inside of my hopper prime out on a job at 5 00 am and run wet to up to 5 or more jobs per day. My personal record is 7 jobs in 1 day.Belive me I know what its like.I would engage PTO in traffic jams and back stroke often.I was lucky to be in a market wich allowed most jobs to be under 50 yrds. with in a 100mile radius.Doing your own scheduling helps plus giving the operator total control of his day. |

I operate an older Putzmeister with the elephant swing trunk. I simply suck my sponge into my hopper and move to the next job. If I get delayed I just engage PTO, remove the clean out port on the trunk and set the flow meter on low and cycle away. Same thing upon arrival at the new job site, recycle mud while I wait for the mixer. |

Would not suggest new operator try this. Once had a new operator that did this with a 32m. Only going a few miles to next job, but had poor hopper guard. Instead he used a piece of plywood. Upon taking off from a stop sign, on a slight hill, mud came out of the hopper onto a BMW that was directly behind the pump. That turned out to be an expensive washout. Not to mention he was late to second job, due to having to do police report. Be sure to think about it. |

Sugar kills concrete!! Cement is an alkali, while sugar is a base(almost pure carbon) which neutralizes the alkali, turning it into a salt,if I have my chemistry right. No matter,it works best if liquefied,so I put a 25lb bag in a 5gal bucket and fill with water. Ive cut the top off a 16oz plastic soda bottle, which I use as a scoop,2 for the hopper,1 for the tip, with a couple gallons of water. The hotter the mud the more sugar! |

its cool if you fully understand what your doing if your not sure pull a rabbit at least thruogh the boom make sure to retard the mud and drive slow around corners. 45 minutes is a good limit, but go for it hoss it can be done |
