The crane that's lifting the pipe will do all of the lifting and dropping. You just want to make sure to have very clear communication and good pre-planning with the crane operator since you'll be attached to the pipe with a DE 5" hose. You're not going to be lifting the pipe with your boom alone, I would assume. |

First when you say "I" hope you do not mean your boom! But hear is how you do it, it worked good for me.First insert your pipe into the cage above ground. Then tie top of pipe to cage, let the crane do all the work. Use slick pipe no (clamps or rings welded )slick so it will not hang up on the way up doing multipal holes two pipes BUT BE CARFULL WHEN PUMPING THAT YOU ARE NOT LETTING THE CRANE TO SIDE LOAD YOUR BOOM PULLING PIPE OUT. PENDING THE ANGEL OF YOUR SET UP, PIPE IS ALLWAYS MOVINGIN TWO DIRECTIONS, THAT IS FROM EXPERIENCE. SOME CRANE OPERATORS ONLY WATCHING THEIR LINE NOT YOUR BOOM, SO BE IN CONTROL AS PIPE IS BEING MOVED OR IT COULD COST YOU $$$$$$$$$$$$ |

I once had a great solution for going down a pipe in an angle. We had a 5'' pipe and then we found by luck a 45 degrees 8'' (or so) bend in PVC.. It was just laying there from a plummerjob. We stabbed our 5'' pipe in the 8'' bend and it fitted nice and tight. So now we had a nice round bulb on one side of the pipe. Next step is to turn the pipe so that the round bit of the 45 bend is down on the armer so it slides nicely over without getting stuck. So you will touch the armer but you wont get stuck in it. There is ofcourse a limmit in how many times you can go in and out without destroing the PVC. We did about 20 pipes and it went fine. But I can imagine some solution in metal to. Slides even better over the armer. If the pipe is very long you could make several of those bulbs for more suport.. |

What I dont get, is why would you ever need a pile 60 feet at a 45 degee angle? Seems odd to a Florida boy |

We have them a lot here. Most stand straight up but some have to stand in an angle to give sideways support.. At least... Thats what I think is the case here. |

lots of bridges on the supports have vertical pilings and 45 degree pilings on the outer edges |
