how many of you are having to deal with this ? this is one of the worst invasions of privacy i have ever seen, they get access to everything about you criminal, financial, education for what ? because homeland security says they need this,i believe i would look at all the illegals here and start there not hard working americans that have made a few mistakes,if you do not have a twic card as of jan 13 2009 you will not be allowed in any petrochemical or any industrial site that has a dock on any waterway,if you have been convicted of a felony you need not even apply it is a waste of $132.50,how many construction workers has had an occasional brush with johny law i would dare to say 50-60%,what about felons trying to rehabilitate ,they want be working in chemical plants what will they do ? probably turn to crime to be able to eat I understand the need to protect our nation and our people but this is going a little to far,I bet when it starts shutting down jobs in exxon,chevron,conoco-phillips,costing them money we will see some changes but only then , not if it costs hard working people with a few mistakes on their record their jobs, and just for the record I have mine I just think its gonna put even more people out of work when we need to be finding people jobs not telling them they cant work without clearance from the coast guard

After reading the initial post I did some research about the problems a felon can have obtaining a good job. What I found out was that a convicted felon will have a hard time getting a job anywhere. The marine/railroad/construction industries just started the "hire no felon" idea recently and the reason is the insurance companies, plain and simple. If a felon is hired by company A,and the felon commits a crime while on company time, whether it be theft or assault, company A is liable for the damages, not the felon. In this sue happy society a business must "follow the rules" to stay afloat.Financially speaking, if someone has ever purchased anything on credit or even signed a cell phone contract, their history is divulged to some slick business manager at the car dealership,or some kid at the local cell phone store, nothing new there. As far as the immigrant thing, one must read the history books about what "we" did to the native Americans once we landed on the land they had inhabited for thousands of years...........

Sounds like a good reason to get your rigts reinstated if you have been convicted of a felony. I did, I was convicted at age 19 and pleaded guilty to something I should'nt have. 15 years later I appeared infront of the very same judge with no criminal record and had my rights reinstated. Its possible in alot of cases.

Illegals or "Immigrants" are granted citizenship everyday that have shallow back grounds compared to Blue Blood Americans that were born and raised here! They should be restricted from these jobs also. "Migrant workers" are one problems with our current economy crisis. I know a handful of migrant workers that made alot of dinero in the past few years, They had nice brandnew cars, trucks and houses even business loans. Guess where they are now?.mexico, guess where their homes and cars are?... They're directly involved with our piss poor economy problems.>

I was not comparing illegal immigrants to the native Americans in any way.I was trying to say that we "English" came over to this great land without permission, and booted the native Americans off their land and eventually corralled them in to parcels of land much, much smaller than what they had been living "with" for many years. So,we are just as guilty as the next man...................
