Am intrigued to know why some linepumpers in the uk are now going out for a minmum 1 hr which starts AFTER set up is completed, for a rate which around a third of the price of a small boom pump? Its taken years to get a system of minimum 4/5/6/8/10 hrs for pumps which starts from the moment you get on site, and this is only going backwards. hopefully somebody can explain why? |

Why.....its called "supply and demand" everyone talks about keep'n the price up but when the work gets slow what do people do ....they drop the price, if you don't like it get another job!!!! its been like this for a very long time and you or we will never change it. Just wait 6-12 month and they will be out of business all you have to do is ride it out for a while. keep pump'n C&M |

kiwi- not guilty on swindon, would have wanted at least another 180 on you for that, can think of 2 local line pumper candidates tho. rates get adjusted all the time , but free set ups??? whats next .. free wash out on or off site, free lineman, soon it will be by the minute and no minimum, hey lets throw free concrete in as well. |

Big g - goin on local line pumper rates that would be about 130 if the concrete arrived one after the other Twix - agreed, the rates do p..s me off !!! companies will always bend the prices by 10/20 to get a big job but its the system that they have started which is worse, 2 men, minimum 1 hr on a pump and no set up charge is bad news for the operator and the owner. hope ur keepin busy up there....... and dont feel the need to find work down here!!!.... ( jokin!!) all the best. |
