Unfair Dispatching....

I feel for ya man! Sounds like your shop has some issues. My only comment about scheduling I learned long ago. Let the cards fall where they fall. Every time a pumper manipulates the schedule it always turns out worse than what he had. It is funny like that.

Dont feel so bad I am a machanic for a ready mix company, and the boss a woman married the last driver on the list. so she has taken my pride and joy from me left me without a truck yes i had a company service truck with all the bells on it somthing a guy works for all his lfe and finally gets there and bam its over. My point is the contractors dont want him on the job because he is not that good it all comes out in the wash keep your head up we all will survive

You are right about that ! As far as that goes , I have been a victim as well. I do remember once , a long time ago , I had the dispatcher assign me a different job than was originally scheduled. The plan was to leave for vacation (car trip) after work that day. Well instead of what I predicted could be a long day , I had her switch me with another one. As you might suspect , although a low yardage simple pour , fate had alotted me a day of disaster ! I ended up getting home at 10:00 and had to leave the next morning , late the next morning I might add !

OUCH !! I feel for ya !

That sucks awful ! I hear you though. It would seem so , as you say , but reguardless some people remain "above the law". Must be nice , but then again , you can't put a price on integrity....

When I worked for a  pump company. The boss man said. He wished he had more opps like me. I would come in, do my job, take care of my truck and leave. No workie no seedy! It is a long day hanging around a shop looking out the window.

As a disptcher my motto was always..."why should some operators eat steak while the others hamburger"...everyone gets even amounts of work.

groovy how do You do when one customer wants one special operator ?

If Yoy have 2 32m in and the customer wants operator B ?

Dont thepumpoperators have their "own" pumps ? Some days I have nothing to do when "My" pump dont fit...Some days I have how much I want....

Dont they get 40 hour of salary all week and higher when the pump are pumping ?

I have allways 40 hour (pumping or not, higher when pumping), enough to live and a little bit more.

Well I respect and admire that you for that. Unfortunately , I have no respect for my so called "superiors" , only superior in the fact that they have power....

To Seed....

I hear ya and I feel the same way. Besides , as Union operator , it is forbidden to work "off the clock". Truly we will eventually lose all we've fought for , and becuse there is essentially no unity , we will have only ourselves to blame.
