Im confused Bob, are you saying that the weight alone(84lbs) is what makes them better?

JJ,They are better because they have almost twice the area of a standard 23x23 pad; so the ground sees only 50% as much load per sqThe fact that they are heavy is the downside.They make a 31x31 pad that is 1/2 the thickness but I like a more rigid pad to insure that the load from the outrigger is carried by the entire pad equally; no floppy up-turned corners. ;)

I noticed that a LOT of the manufacture have went to the plastic pads or at least their were several of them on the trucks at WOC this year. Are these the same pads you are talking about Bob?
