WE WASH OUR TRUCKS EVERYDAY, AND WAX THEM PROBABLY 2 TIMES A YEAR ,WE HAVE A PRESSURE WASHER , A BUCKET WITH WASH AND WAX AND A BRUSH WITH A LONG HANDLE, NEVER EVER PUT ANYTHING ON YOUR CHROM WHEN ITS HOT AND BE LEARY OF THESE GUYS THAT HAVE THE FIX ALL WASH PRODUCTS IF YOU GET IT EVERYDAY YOU CAN STAY ON TOP OF IT WITH JUST SOME TYPE OF WASH AND WAX.

I think Brandon has it wired.

The paint jobs that are on todays pumps are truly AUTOMOTIVE QUALITY. I don't know of another industry that spends as much time and money on painting their equipment. That said, If you treat your pump like you treat your pickup. .......... that is if you filled the back of your pickup with concrete every day..... then they will look the same. Truth be told, there are pickup manufactures that could take lessons from the pump manufactures on how to paint something; lord knows that we use better and more expensive paint. $15,000.00 to paint a 47meter is more than you pay for some cars.

So use the brush, really wash it well, it gets "wet" when it rains.  ;~)

Good Post Brandon, the key is WASH IT DAILY, never let concrete specs, spots, splatters, spills, and huge messes, stay on it, once hardened it becomes a scraping nightmare.

Well we power wash every Night. We have some new acid type soap that can be left on 24hrs, then washed with pressure, but oil in morning keep ontop after shift, brush is best or power wash. We have deep pockets as a world wide firm but we used to just oild with form oil and a quick powerwash at night.

Interesting,I thought everyone washed nightly.I often found myself hand washing on the job,as well as waxing, amorall of cab, polishing wheels.I didn't feel complete till I used tire shine. When out of town if it wasn't clean I just didn't feel right, seeking out car washes.

Never Use Any Kind of soap with acid of anykind !! From Electrical connections all the way to Paint it will harm the pump , Besides if you take care of your second Wife & clean her after every job she will be good to you , ;)

I always use old hydralic oil from the boom whenever we change the fluids, & pressure wash at the end of every day, Then once a week brush wash it with a mild soap,

Here are few Photos showing the rig I currently run.
