i don't know about other states, but here in texas the operator/driver is the one responsible for tracking mud onto the streets. i got a ticket for "loose materials" i.e. mud in my tires back in november. i went to court today because it is a moving violation and a point. whether that point is detrimental to my license or insurance the a.d.a. couldn't answer. so now i have to go through a trial by judge to hopefully get it dismissed. the a.d.a. wouldn't dismiss it. all she could offer was dropping the fine to $1.00. the problem with that is it's a guilty plea which translates to another point. rock and a hard place guys. |

Well sometimes it ends up being "one of those days" and the best we can do is piss on the wheels because there aint enough water left to even wash our boots! |

NO its called cost of job so it should be passed onto the customer until they get the clue that this issue is the law and we do not owe them or their disreguard. just my three cents worth. |

I don't know if it is still the same in the Houston area as it was when I was there, but the muddier and wetter the jobsite was, was when we were our busiest. Can't tailgate slabs if the trucks get struck. So carry some saftey cone to throw out and put yopur flashers on, and wash away. |

10 year ago in oregon when i was a wood pecker, we had to send the labors out to was tires of every truck that came on site because of ordinances for the fish. We just added it into the cost of the job and passed it onto the customer. Today, when I am on a job, I REQUIRE the mixer dirver to stay if water is in question. Mud on the streets makes home owners, builders and contractors look bad and you a slob. Our time starts when we leave the shop and ends when we are done, that includes washing tires ect.. on the job. If you just explain that to everybody in advance, they will understand. |

Here in Washington, the surface water laws are very strict! (save the salmon). I have seen entire projects shut down because of mud being tracked into the street! |
