Water Heater

I read a post here about adding a electric hot water heater element to the water tank on a pump to heat water. Anyone done this? Did you use a power inverter to run the element? Can the same thing be done with the hydraulic tank? Dangerous to have the element in the oil? Welding the bung to the tank might be a problem. Thoughts?

I hook mine up to shop power at night and up plug in the morning,I have had one for 5 years now, just be sure you fill the tank before you plug it in don't you will fry the element.
