We are using this ball for all size pipes and not found build up concrete in side the pipes or elbow. (getting good clean)

I also like the cylindrical shape as opposed to a sphere (ball).

The ball has a tendency to occasionally ‘roll over’ in some elbows and leave residual crete. The hard, firm balls don’t do this as much; but I don’t care for the soft ones at all unless they are 7” in diameter. The 8" cylinder seems to sweep the elbows cleaner and is as easy to 'screw into the tip elbows. They also do a very good job on the 6x5 reducer. The drawback is that unless you are paying proper attention they will go into the valve and get the chop. A Cifa style ball stop makes the cylinders a better choice.

Sounds like consumers report. ;~)

I think this ball too quickly moves. I have 100mm pipeline and used 150mm ball and in last elbow was buildup, because ball too quickly moves. Now I use water and 125mm ball, no problem! Sorry for my english.

Mr.Serqei

Ball quickly move depend on reveres pumping if you fast reversing ball will com back fast.

But I think dont take reveres fast.

we use those white cylinder sponges like in the picture but what I've found if you put cylicone on one of the ends and put that end with the cylicone in the elbow first it works excellent and will never leave any build up in the pipe-line. I've been doing this for about 8 years and not once have I had a problem with build up in the pipes.

I've been using these (7"dia x 10"long) for over eight years. They work great and they are relatively cheap, I pay $6.00ea to a local foam factory. Of course you would'nt want to do it every day but if you happen to chop one up it's not a big deal.

I have Used all kind good job Munir, I agree w/ Bob the soft round sponge= junk , sorry just my opinion. I personally havent sucked a sponge back in 6-7 months ( I water wash) Its not for everyone but my pipe on the inside is spotless. The sponges I do carry on my pump are the octogon style.. seem to work good when I do use em..Although I always use 2 :-)

Keep them pipes hollow !  <---  stole that from Bob

Water washing was covered on a thread called Cleaning the boom by JohnThomas on 4/18/2007 and a thread called water washing by HFK Concrete on 2/17/2007. There was also an article on it and I printed it out but I can not find it on the web site now.

Also Seattle bucket wash was covered in that thread.

Someone summed it up pretty nice "water wash is not for the faint of heart".

I tried it for the first time this week and it did not work. Luckily I could suck a sponge with no problem. The valve was stuck so I could not pump in reverse but I pumped it forward once then reversed it. After you suck the water back all you have in your hopper is sand and rock perfect for sand locking.

The only advantage I can see to water washing is you will end up with about half the sand and rock as you usually do. It is not faster unless you have a fire hose handy to fill your hopper.
