Well, between the three of you, pick up the best pumps from the Estate and go into business.  Go talk to your former bosses accountant and see if he would help you out, put a business plan together, and help you as far as operating a business is concerned.  You just might be surprised.  The widow.estae may be willing to finance you guys in the interim, until you get on your feet.  If there's a shop involved, you can likely rent that.  This may be a sweetheart deal for the estate.  Things are going to be tough on that end too.  the dor isn't necessarily closing, if you look at it fron another angle, it may be opening.  FOOD for thought.  At any rate, it may help everything out to keep the business as a going concern until some decisions can me made.  Surely there must be an out-of work pump manager that may jump into the fray, if you guys are unsure.
